U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) praised the House of Representatives for passing H.R.3017, the Brownfields Enhancement, Economic Redevelopment, and Reauthorization Act of 2017. This legislation is similar to legislation authored by Sen. Inhofe, S.822, the Brownfields Utilization, Investment, and Local Development (BUILD) Act.
“It’s great that the House got this bill across the finish line. I wholeheartedly believe that the BUILD Act can and should become law this year and urge the Senate to take it up before the end of the year. The Brownfields program has seen tremendous success in Oklahoma and is a long-standing priority of mine as it achieves tangible results towards environmental cleanup while promoting economic development. The Brownfields reauthorization is bipartisan with broad support across the political spectrum, and I am committed to working with our Democratic co-sponsors to get this legislation signed into law this year.”
