Inhofe: You Don’t Let Loose the Brain Power of the Taliban
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), last night joined The Kelly File on FOX News to discuss the dangerous release of five Senior Taliban leaders from the detention center at Guantanamo Bay and called for public committee hearings to disclose the circumstances of the terrorists’ release. The Senate Armed Services Committee is scheduled to have a closed, classified briefing on the terrorist swap next Tuesday.
INHOFE: "I don’t like the closed hearing, because the American people need to know. Today I have requested an open hearing, whether we can do that by following the closed hearing, I don’t know- but we need to have an open hearing so that everyone knows what’s going on."
Inhofe also noted during the interview that the background and history of the released Taliban leaders merits further scrutiny.
INHOFE: “You don’t swap out and turn back to the fight people who have killed Americans, people who are the brainpower of the Taliban."
