WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, the American Conservative Union (ACU) recognized U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe as a 2010 ACU Conservative. This honor is presented annually to Members of Congress who hold a consistent conservative voting record.
“I thank the ACU for this prestigious award and for their continued dedication to advocate conservative principles,” said Inhofe. “As our nation continues to recover from a devastating recession, we must continue to push for less government intrusion and lower taxes. This is the only solution to rescuing our economy from a windfall of debt and creating jobs. I will continue to fight the liberal agenda that is being pushed by President Obama and his Democratic colleagues in Congress.”
ACU Chairman Al Cardenas said, “This award is a reflection of Senator Inhofe’s consistent support of conservative principles on a wide range of issues of concern to grassroots conservatives in 2010. His lifetime rating of 97.6 over 24 years of service is one of the highest in the Congress over a long period of time. At a challenging time when the fundamental principles of the American system of government are being challenged, Senator Inhofe stands with those who are trying to preserve those principles.”
