WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) today released his 2011 accomplishments report, Growing a Strong Economy Together. In 40 pages, the report highlights Inhofe’s work during 2011, focusing on key roots to economic strength: Fewer Regulations, Lower Taxes, Less Government Spending, and Trade. The report also highlights Inhofe’s solid conservative record on national defense, foreign relations, and other issue areas.
“Throughout the course of the past year, we saw again and again how President Obama’s policies took their toll on our families, our businesses, our economy, and our freedoms,” said Inhofe. “Pursuing his ultra liberal agenda has made things worse. As you will see from this year’s annual report, the right approach to getting America back on track with a growing economy is much different from the approach that President Obama has pursued.
“On the one hand, Obama’s approach means weighing all of us down with more regulations coming from his bureaucracies, increased deficit spending by the government that only saddles us with even more debt, and a “soak the rich” tax mentality that only discourages job creators from doing what they do best. On the other hand, as this year’s report outlines, my approach is to fight overregulation and excessive government spending that leads to more debt, lower taxes so that Americans can decide what to do with their money—not the government, and expand the market of our goods and services through trade. These are the roots that will grow a strong economy together. I hope you find this record of my activities during 2011 helpful and informative.”
