Inhofe Applauds Confirmation of Coats as Director of National Intelligence

WASHINGTON—U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), today voted to confirm Dan Coats to be Director of National Intelligence. Coats was confirmed by a vote of 85–12.

Dan is a great friend of mine, and we have worked together since I was first elected in the House in 1986,” Inhofe said. “Dan has received strong bipartisan support and I have tremendous faith that he will carry out this role with integrity and honor. He will do everything he can to ensure the intelligence community functions efficiently and effectively to protect the American people from those who want to do us harm.”
