WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe, senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), today applauded President Trump’s executive action creating an Office of Accountability and Whistleblower Protection at the Department of Veterans Affairs.
“Ensuring our Veterans receive the best care possible is and has been a top priority of mine and I am pleased to see that the president is prioritizing our veterans as well by creating this office of accountability,” Inhofe said. “I echo President Trump’s request for the Senate to take up and pass the pending Veterans Affairs Accountability Act which will build upon his executive action to expand access to healthcare and improve veterans affairs while also protecting whistleblowers and rewarding top-performing VA employees. I look forward to working with both the President and VA Secretary Shulkin to implement these and future changes including empowering our Veterans Integrated Services Network (VISN) directors with additional authorities that will give our veterans the care they deserve.”
