Inhofe Applauds Proposed Repeal of Clean Power Plan

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), senior member of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, today praised the EPA for starting the process to repeal the Clean Power Plan:

“When the Supreme Court placed an unprecedented stay on the Clean Power Plan in 2016, it became clear that the rule would not withstand the many legal challenges it faced. I applaud Administrator Pruitt for taking the first step to repeal the Clean Power Plan, continuing his difficult task of restoring the proper authority and function of the EPA. This rule was nothing but an attempt to eliminate a huge source of affordable energy and would have cost an estimated $73 billion per year in compliance, raising electricity prices on families and businesses while having almost no impact on global carbon levels.”
