WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), today congratulated the KC-135 Program Depot Maintenance Team, and the rest of “Team Tinker”, on winning the distinguished Robert T. Mason Award for Depot Maintenance Excellence. The KC-135 team’s hard work and innovative methods reduced the time to complete maintenance by 21 percent. The Department of Defense award was announced by Under Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter.
“Congratulations to the great team at the KC-135 PDM and the rest of Team Tinker,” said Inhofe. “The KC-135 is critical to our fight in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world. This award highlights the strong worth ethic and ingenuity that is demonstrated on a daily basis at Tinker. This is just more evidence that Tinker is the perfect place to do the KC-46 maintenance work. I congratulate them on a job well done.”
