U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) praised the passage of S. Res. 213, a bipartisan resolution designating this week as National Public Works Week. The resolution encourages the public to recognize and celebrate the important contributions that public works officials make every day to improve public infrastructure in the United States.
“I am proud the Senate is taking time to recognize such an important week as National Public Works Week,” Inhofe said. “There are two things we should be most-closely focused on in Congress – defending America and building up our nation’s infrastructure. The modern lives we lead would not be possible without infrastructure and the men and women who build and maintain this infrastructure are vital public servants.”
“During National Public Works Week, let us recognize the dedicated public works professionals throughout our country,” said Harris. “These men and women work tirelessly to provide and maintain the infrastructure, facilities, and services that Americans rely on every day. I am proud to join my colleagues in paying tribute to the vital role public works officials play in improving the safety and quality of life in the communities they serve.”
