INHOFE HONORS AMERICA’S VETERANS

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, made the following statement to honor veterans as the nation observes Veteran’s Day:

“From the Minutemen who fired the first shots to secure America’s freedom to the men and women in uniform currently serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world, generations of Americans have given their all to defend our nation.  Today we honor their service and sacrifice.  While we set aside this day each year to specifically recognize our nation’s veterans, honoring those who have worn the uniform must be done each day of the year.  Our nation can accomplish this by providing them and their families with the best care and benefits.  This is why I am committed to providing our service members, our veterans, and their families with the resources they need.
“Because of all those who have served and are serving, our freedoms have been preserved.  We, as a nation, cannot do enough to thank those who, in being willing to lay down their life for freedom’s cause, have demonstrated the truest devotion to this nation and their fellow Americans.  Today, I join a grateful nation in celebrating our veterans. We can never fully repay the debt we owe them, but we should never cease trying. ###
