WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), today welcomed the men and women who serve at Altus Air Force Base and the surrounding community that support them at the 49th Annual Altus Quail Breakfast. Inhofe served as the host of today’s event that featured keynote speakers U.S. Gen. Norton Schwartz, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, and Erin Conaton, Under Secretary of the U.S. Air Force.

“Once again, I’m honored to be involved with this wonderful tradition,” said Inhofe. “It is always an honor to meet with and host the good people of Altus in our nation’s capital. I continue to be humbled by the daily sacrifices made by our brave men and women in uniform at Altus Air Force Base. This morning, both U.S. Gen. Schwartz and Under Secretary Conaton echoed my sentiments that your service is indispensable to protecting our great nation. As Congress moves forward with the next fiscal year’s budget, I will continue to represent your needs to ensure our nation’s military is fully funded.

Inhofe continued, “I applaud the citizens of Altus for their service to the people on and off the base. It is your hospitality, kindness, and strong community that makes Altus one of the strongest military installations in the nation.”
