INHOFE JOINS 12 SENATORS ON CR AMENDMENT TO DEFUND OBAMACARE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) Tuesday joined Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Rand Paul (R-Ky.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), John Cornyn (R-Texas), Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), James Risch (R-Idaho), David Vitter (R-La.), Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), Tim Scott (R-S.C.), Dean Heller (R-Nev.), and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) in offering an amendment to the Continuing Resolution legislation in the Senate to defund the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

“ObamaCare is and never was the shining star that President Obama and Democrats sold it to the American public as when they forced it through Congress,” said Inhofe. “ObamaCare has not proven to be good for our country. Americans have already lost access to their health care coverage the president promised they could keep. Health care premiums are sky-rocketing. Conscience rights of employers, patients, and doctors are being threatened. Small businesses have refrained from hiring due to its 20,000 pages of complex regulations at a time when we desperately need American businesses to expand and boost the economy. ObamaCare straps an even bigger rocket to exploding healthcare costs and taxes, further burdening struggling families and hardworking Americans. I hope President Obama understands the clear message we are sending today: my conservative colleagues and I in the Senate will not relent on our efforts to put an end to this destructive law."
