INHOFE OPPOSES OBAMA'S STIMULUS II

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a leading fiscal conservative, today made the following statement after opposing President Obama’s American Jobs Act, which failed to pass a cloture vote last night in the U.S. Senate:

“President Obama’s $447 billion plan is not what our nation needs. This legislation, dressed up as a “jobs” bill, is really nothing more than another stimulus package.  It provides no long-term solution to our nation’s economic woes, and it will only drag our nation deeper into debt.  Even Democrats opposed the President’s bill.  What our country needs is a reduction in regulations coming out of Washington, a comprehensively reformed tax code, and a cut in government spending to balance the budget.  These are the things that will restore confidence and strength to our economy.”
