U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), member of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, praised the advancement of Dr. Kelvin Droegemeier and Rick Dearborn’s nominations. They will now be considered before the full Senate. Droegemeier was nominated by President Trump to serve as the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy. Dearborn was nominated by President Trump to serve as a Director of the Amtrak Board of Directors.
“I am pleased that the Commerce Committee has advanced the nominations of these well-qualified Oklahomans,” Inhofe said. “Dr. Droegemeier was instrumental in realizing the potential of combining new radar and software technology forming the basis of our ability today to track and predict severe weather. Mr. Dearborn has an in-depth knowledge of passenger rail issues from his long career working on successful surface transportation legislative efforts. Dr. Droegemeier and Mr. Dearborn have substantial experience in their fields and passion for the work they have been selected to do by President Trump. I look forward to their swift confirmations by the full Senate.”
