U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), praised the Senate confirmation of four more judges under the Trump Administration this week. To date, the Senate has confirmed more qualified circuit court nominees nominated by President Trump than any other president at this point in their term.
“This week, the Senate continued to remake the federal bench by confirming young, well-qualified nominees who will uphold the rule of law and respect judicial restraint,” Inhofe said. “We confirmed our 42nd circuit court judge and our 83rd district court judge nominated by President Trump—a historic number for this point in a presidency. Despite unprecedented Democrat obstruction, Senate Republicans have managed, through Senate procedural changes, to confirm judges more swiftly—including three from Oklahoma—to remake the federal bench. This legacy is important for having a court that upholds the Constitution today—but also for our future generations.”
Inhofe praised the Senate rule change in April that allows the Senate to shorten time of debate on nominations to district courts or subcabinet positions. Read more here.
