WASHINGTON, D.C. – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce recognized U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a leading Senate conservative, with the Spirit of Enterprise Award. This annual award is presented to legislators who possess a pro-economic voting record. Last year, Inhofe received the same award for his outstanding voting record in the 1st session of the 111th Congress.
“I am honored to receive the Spirit of Enterprise Award from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce,” said Inhofe. “I applaud the chamber’s commitment to small businesses across the nation, and their effort to encourage policies that yield strong economic growth. Congress must put an end to wasteful deficit spending and bloated budgets – American taxpayers deserve better from their representatives.”
“The Chamber is honored to recognize Senator Inhofe for helping create an environment in which businesses can grow and create jobs,” said Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber. “He has shown great conviction by standing on the side of business, at a time when it matters most. Today we honor him.”
