Inhofe Promotes Oklahoma at Farnborough Air Show

WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) and a member of the Senate General Aviation Caucus and the Senate Pilot’s Caucus, spoke Sunday at the sixth annual Oklahoma Aerospace Breakfast during the Farnborough International Airshow. The event was sponsored by the Oklahoma Business Roundtable, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce, the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, the Tulsa Regional Chamber of Commerce and MidAmerica Industrial Park.

Addressing the audience, Inhofe said, “Thank you for all being here – our aerospace and defense industry friends and partners – you know how we feel about you, how we love working with you, and how important you are to not just Oklahoma but to our country…Oklahoma is of the world’s fastest growing aerospace clusters over the past seven years. That did not happen by accident and sustaining it takes continued hard work and dedication. Oklahoma has a culture that promotes and attracts business and people. Over 120,000 people in Oklahoma work in the 500 plus aerospace and defense companies based in Oklahoma. We are partners in each other’s future.”

During his time at the Farnborough Air Show, Inhofe also met with United States aircrews with aircraft on display at the show and met with defense industry representatives to include those from Oklahoma and those with facilities in Oklahoma.
