U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) submitted a statement for the record on the nomination of Jodi Dishman to serve as U.S. District Court Judge for the Western District of Oklahoma ahead of her confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee:
Inhofe: Thank you, Mr. Chairman for the opportunity to introduce Jodi Dishman to the Committee today. A native of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jodi has proven herself as an exemplary attorney with an extensive career in complex judicial cases.
While at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Jodi served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Oklahoma Law Review and received the OU College of Law’s “Most Outstanding Graduate Award.” Following law school, she distinguished herself as a judicial clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Subsequently, in her most recent position as lead counsel at the law firm McAfee and Taft in Oklahoma City, she focused on trials and appeals in federal and state courts.
Among her many accolades, she has been listed as one of the “Best Lawyers in America” for commercial litigation and insurance law.
I continue to be impressed with Jodi’s depth of knowledge and experience, and I am confident she would serve the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma with honor and distinction.
