WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), co-chair of the Senate Army Caucus and U.S. Army veteran, recently received the Honorable Order of Saint Barbara from the United States Field Artillery Association. The award, presented by U.S. Maj. Gen. David Halverson, Commanding Gen. of the Fires Center of Excellence and Ft. Sill, is in honor of Inhofe’s dedicated and lasting efforts in Congress to promote the capabilities of field artillery.
“I am humbled to receive this prestigious honor from the United States Field Artillery Association,” said Inhofe. “It is imperative that Congress continues to advocate for the development, procurement, and training required to field the best equipped and modernized field artillery in the world. The Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill - specifically the Field Artillery School - is instrumental in providing world class and unmatched field artillery trained soldiers that are currently serving with distinction around the world. I look forward to continue advocating and advancing the cause of freedom through a robust and unmatched field artillery both in Oklahoma and throughout the United States Army.”
The Honorable Order of Saint Barbara is awarded to individuals who have demonstrated the highest standards of integrity and moral character, displayed an outstanding degree of professional competence, served the U.S. Army or Marine Corps Field Artillery with selflessness, and contributed to the promotion of the Field Artillery.
