Today, U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) rejected the Senate confirmation of Mayor Marty Walsh to be the Secretary of the Department of Labor.
“We need a secretary who will be for all labor, not just big labor,” Inhofe said. “The Biden-Harris administration is clear—they want him in the cabinet to work for big union bosses and not union workers. Why else would the president shut down the Keystone XL Pipeline, which eliminated 10,000 union jobs, push a minimum wage increase that would cost 1.4 million jobs, and advocate for radical changes to labor law that would overturn states’ right-to-work laws and harm independent contractors? I cannot support Mayor Walsh’s confirmation.”
