WASHINGTON - U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) today voted no on final passage of a continuing resolution to fund the federal government through Dec. 9, 2016. The continuing resolution passed by a vote of 72 to 26.
"I could not vote for the Continuing Resolution because it does not account for the several thousand additional troops the president has sent overseas this year to support our national security and American interests," Inhofe said. "This is why we should be considering appropriations bills through regular order, so we could have had the proper debate on how to adequately fund and provide for our men and women in harms way. Instead, Democrats filibustered appropriations bills that pertained to our nation’s military six separate times.”
