WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works (EPW) Committee, today praised the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, the City of Durant and Bryan County for being awarded an Economic Development Administration (EDA) grant of $750,000 to support the development and implementation of the Choctaw Nation Economic Development Initiative in the federally designated new Promise Zone in Southeast Oklahoma.
“My sincere congratulations to the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma, the City of Durant and Bryan County for being awarded this EDA grant that will support business and economic development in the region," Inhofe said. "The Choctaw Nation Economic Development Initiative plays an important role in enhancing the relationships between the Choctaw Nation, federal government and local community. This grant will help to diversify and strengthen the economy in the Promise Zone and will play an important rule to ensure this initiative is a success.”
