U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement today on the enactment of the National Defense Authorization Act of Fiscal Year 2020.
“The United States is in the most threatened position I’ve experienced in my lifetime, and it’s vital we have the policy and resources in place to meet the needs of a nation increasingly at risk. After President Obama degraded and underfunded our military for years, President Trump and I promised to rebuild and restore our military. With the enactment of this legislation, we are one step closer to fulfilling this promise. Not only does this legislation help revitalize and replenish key equipment and systems, but it also accelerates development of critical technologies and delivers on President Trump’s Space Force. The NDAA will build a stronger, safer America and keep us ahead of our strategic competitors: China and Russia.
“President Trump has been a tireless champion of our Armed Forces, and I thank him for his leadership and for signing this important legislation quickly.”
