Inhofe Statement on EPA Rule Proposal to Allow E15 Waiver and to Improve RIN Market Transparency

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) made the following statement after the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced a proposed rule to improve renewable identification number (RIN) transparency and allow the sale of E15 year round under the renewable fuel standard (RFS).

“I’ve never supported E15 and the Clean Air Act is clear in its prohibition of year-round E15 sales, but I appreciate that Administrator Andrew Wheeler followed through on President Trump’s commitment to RIN market reform,” Inhofe said. “I look forward to carefully reviewing the proposed rulemaking and sharing my thoughts and suggestions during the comment process.”
