Inhofe Statement on Passing of Maj. Gen. John Rossi

TULSA, Okla. — U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement regarding the passing of Maj. Gen. John Rossi: 

“Maj. Gen. Rossi was known among his colleagues for his charisma, loyalty and love for his country. While stationed at Fort Sill, Maj. Gen. Rossi and his family embraced the Oklahoma community, and his leadership was recognized with the Distinguished Service Medal award. My thoughts and prayers are with Maj. Gen. Rossi’s family and with the Fort Sill community during this time.” 

Maj. Gen. Rossi served as the commanding general of the U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence and Fort Sill from June 3, 2014 to July 21, 2016, and was to take command of the United States Army Space and Missile Defense Command-Army Forces Strategic Command at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama on Aug. 2.
