Inhofe Statement on Senate Vote to Fund the Government

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) made the following statement after Congress passed a continuing resolution to fund the government and extend the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) for six years:

“For the first time in history, it is clear which party caused the shutdown. On Friday, 90 percent of Democrats voted to block a bill that would keep the government open and fund our military and veterans. I’m pleased the Democrats ended their Schumer Shutdown and let us get back to our constitutional priorities of defending America. Today’s vote provides a fresh opportunity for us to get back to the work of the Senate and look forward to working on legislation that provides long-term funding for our military.”
