INHOFE STATEMENT ON THE DEATH OF REVEREND JERRY FALWELL

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) made the following statement in response to the news of Rev. Jerry Falwell’s death.
 
“Today our Nation grieves the passing of a tremendous American leader, Rev. Jerry Falwell,” Inhofe said. “Rev. Falwell served as the cornerstone for the Moral Majority in this nation and America is stronger as a result of his service.  I knew Rev. Falwell well and consider myself blessed to have called him my friend. Today I join Americans of every stripe in mourning our nation’s loss.”
 
Rev. Jerry Falwell, a television evangelist who is credited with founding the ‘Moral Majority’, died on Tuesday in Lynchburg, VA at age 73. He also founded and serves as the president of Liberty University.
