U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) made the following statement on the nomination of Frank Fannon to be Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources:
“I am pleased that my good friend and former staffer, Frank Fannon, has been nominated to lead the State Department’s Bureau of Energy Resources. We’ve seen how expanding U.S. energy exports to Eastern Europe has supported our allies and curbed Russia’s influence in the region. As Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources, Frank can use his leadership and expertise effectively to advance American energy dominance and enforce energy sanctions, like those against Russia and Iran. After his markup in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday, I look forward to his swift confirmation so he can help Secretary Pompeo effectively implement our energy dominance agenda.”
The Senate Committee on Foreign Relations will consider Mr. Fannon’s nomination to be Assistant Secretary for Energy Resources Wednesday morning.
