U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) released the following statement on Ukraine call transcript:
“The Democrats will go to any lengths in their efforts to harass President Trump and assault his character, but it’s not surprising. They elevated secondhand accounts and media speculation with such a frenzy that President Trump was forced to set aside national security protocols and release the transcript of his call with the president of Ukraine.
“And what did the call reveal? The Democrats are once again disappointed that there is no smoking gun. I didn’t see anything incriminating here. In fact, the president urged an open and transparent investigation of corruption. The Democrats are now moving the goalposts again, as they will do until November 2020.
“This is a biased, partisan witch hunt to find wrongdoing by President Trump. It’s unfortunate how these baseless allegations are dominating the news coverage of him, but time will be his friend. Good things are happening with this president. We’re rebuilding the military, remaking the judiciary and seeing the benefits of tax reform and the booming economy.”
