Inhofe Votes for Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act

U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) made the following statement after Democrats blocked consideration of S.311, legislation to protect babies who are born alive after an attempted abortion:

“Today I voted to protect babies who are born alive after an attempted abortion by requiring doctors to provide the same level of medical care they would to any other baby. The fact that Democrats blocked this bill shows how radical and out of step they are with the American people – 80 percent of which support limiting abortion to the first trimester. After the recent, shocking statements from the Virginia Governor in support of withholding medical care to babies aborted alive, Democrats claimed that they were not the party of infanticide. The Senate Democrats refusal to vote for this bill today shows that they are the party of infanticide. I urge the House to bring this important piece of legislation to a vote so Americans can see where all their elected officials stand in protecting the innocent.”
