WASHINGTON—U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, today voted to confirm Wilbur Ross as secretary of commerce. The Senate confirmed Ross by a vote of 72–27.
“Wilbur Ross believes that cutting taxes and government red tape is the best way to invigorate our economy and create jobs,” Inhofe said. “Ross also understands the important role that trade plays in growing the American economy and strengthening engagement with our allies, including Taiwan and African nations. I am looking forward to working with Ross and the Administration to strengthen our existing trade relationships and build new ones, while advancing our shared goals.”
