WASHINGTON — U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC), today voted to confirm Heather Wilson as secretary of the Air Force. She was confirmed by a vote of 76-22.
“As an Air Force Academy Rhodes Scholar with seven years of service in the European Command and over a decade of service in the U.S. House of Representatives, Heather Wilson is uniquely qualified to serve as secretary of the Air Force,” Inhofe said. “During our meeting in February, Heather stressed to me her commitment to rebuilding and strengthening our Air Force. Throughout her career, she has fought to improve Air Force readiness, modernize our military and stop reductions in military spending every step of the way. I was pleased to vote in favor of her confirmation.”
