WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), a leading Senate conservative, for the sixth consecutive year was awarded the National Taxpayers Union’s (NTU) Taxpayers’ Friend Award, earning an “A” rating from the NTU.
“Washington has a spending problem - not a revenue problem,” said Inhofe. “I am honored to once again receive this award and will continue to fight President Obama and his liberal colleagues as they pursue continued tax-and-spend policies. I appreciate NTU’s hard work in standing up for taxpayers in advocating less government spending and lower taxes on the American people.”
NTU Executive Vice President Pete Sepp said, “On issue after issue – from opposing the cap-and-trade national energy tax to fighting the President’s budget-busting health care scheme – Jim Inhofe stood tall for taxpayers in 2010. For six straight years, Senator Inhofe has earned NTU’s Taxpayers’ Friend Award for providing vital leadership to restore fiscal discipline in Washington. Now, in 2011, we look forward to working with him in bringing federal finances back under control.”
