SASC Chairman Inhofe Commends Senate for Confirming Army Secretary

Today, the Senate voted by voice to confirm Ryan McCarthy as Secretary of the Army. U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement following the vote:

“Mr. McCarthy has served capably as Acting Secretary of the Army for the past few months, and I’m glad the Senate has voted to confirm him in that role today. As we implement the recommendations of the National Defense Strategy Commission Report, it’s important we have a nimble, modern fighting force that is ready to take on 21st century challenges. At his nomination hearing, Mr. McCarthy correctly noted the critical role the Army plays in our Joint Force, and I am confident he will enable the Army to fulfill that role.”
