SASC Chairman Inhofe Statement on Missile Defense Review

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.), Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, welcomed the release of the Missile Defense Review, which outlines ways to protect the American homeland and interests abroad against a potential missile attack:

“I’m pleased the Missile Defense Review further aligns our national defense positions with the National Defense Strategy by emphasizing theater missile defense in Europe and the Pacific while improving the critical ability to counter threats to the homeland from Iran and North Korea. I am especially encouraged by its emphasis on advanced technology development that will ensure a continued focus on modernization efforts to maintain, and in some cases establish, a competitive advantage relative to our adversaries who are advancing rapidly. I look forward to working with the Department of Defense as they implement the review in the coming weeks and months.”
