The Senate Page Program provides a unique opportunity for high school students to learn about and contribute to our nation’s legislative process. Selected students work with some of the nation’s most prominent leaders in a capacity that allows them to experience a variety of new ideas, perspectives, and issues.
Page duties consist primarily of delivering correspondence and legislative material within the Congressional Complex. Other duties include taking messages for Members, calling them to the phone, preparing the Chamber for Senate sessions, and carrying bills and amendments to the desk.
There are four established page sessions. The academic year consists of two semesters that run from early September through mid-January and from mid-January through early-June. The summer sessions are broken in to two 3-4 week sessions. Summer Session I starts in early June and Summer Session II starts in early July.
